I have been completing a series of posts to help people prepare for the MB2-716 certification (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customization and Configuration). Here is a collection of links to all of those posts. I hope these might serve as a useful revision aid for the MB2-716 exam.
The MB2-716 certification is not easy to study for. At least in my opinion! The reason being the scope of the exam. Dynamics 365 is a large product and therefore customizing it is a big topic. But a fun topic and one you will really enjoy learning about.

I cleared this exam, my first MS cert. Your revision notes were really helpful. Thanks for your posts. Which is the next CRM certification you suggest. I am a CRM implementation manager with 3 years MS dynamics experience.

Well done and thanks.
MB2-715 (on line deployment) might be a logical next step. Partly I think this because you are an implementation manager but also because have 716 and 715 will give you mcsa qualification

Thanks a lot Neil for taking your time to prepare these explanatory documents. This really helps when doing the exam, more than that it helps to find the small things that we do not worry too much about. Although it aligns with the exam, content is very rich and helps you in your day to day work as well.
Thanks again.

You will find a revision guide for 716 on my blog. Failing that try Microsoft’s DLP as they publish some great content.

I am new to MS Dynamics and have been considering taking this certification. When do you think would be an ideal time to take it? Should I gain more real time experience or can I practice everyday to learn these concepts?

Hi Jyothi
Sorry for my slow response.
This is hard to answer! Only you know when you are ready to take the exam.
As a rule of thumb I would generally suggest someone has 6 months expereince with Dynamics before taking the MB2-716 exam. But this is not a hard and fast rule. I am sure you can study hard and pass the exam long before that!!
Neil.

Hello Neil, I’m in the process of working through you revision guide with the exam scheduled for next week. Unfortunately, I do not have access to DLP, would you recommend anywhere else for practice exams? I do not trust what I find by randomly searching. Thanks in advance.

Great comment Andrew, I created my posts for people who don’t have DLP access. DLP is great. Sorry but don’t know of a better resource. Some companies publish (for a cost) questions. I find the answers on these to be complete shite!!! I will never recommend those as they are no substitute for really learning the product ……

Hi Neil, I wrote the exam yesterday but did not pass. There was a question about maximum allowable pixels in a field which is not explained in DLP course…searched the net and nothing. Would you have any insights?
Thank you

Sorry to hear that Michel, I assume you are referring to the column width in views. I so that is 300 px. Hope you pass next time.

Hi Neil , I passed this exam today. I wanted to thank you for the detailed blog covering all objectives of the exam with practical demonstratation , highlighting the important facets and theoretical explanation. You have put down the content beautifuly and onus is given to understanding the core concept with practical implementation to reinforce the concept to make one exam ready. Appreciate your time and efforts to grow this community.
One query as MB2-715 is slated to retire in june 2019. which exam should i take up next on the developer track ?

Thanks Sauarbh, great feedback. And well done.
Short term I would still consider taking the 715 exam.
After that, I am currently taking MB 200, MB 210 and MB 230. You could consider any (all) of those. But right now they are still classed as beta exams. So you might want to wait a few weeks!

Do you suggest MB2-716 or 715. Considering these exams are going to retire.

Mb2 716 will be around for longer so that is still a good option. But also look at the newer MB 200 exam.
